Hitwise has released a new report showing that the length of search queries has increased over the past year. Apparently longer search queries, 5+ words in length, have increased by 10% and shorter search queries, 1 to 4 words, have decreased by 2%. This has got me thinking about what could have changed over the last year to affect people’s searches.

I’ve been following this case from the beginning and am overjoyed that the Kentucky Court of Appeals has ruled against the Franklin Circuit Court from seizing Internet domain names. Now for those of you not in the know, last year Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear seized 141 gambling domains allegedly in an act to protect his state from the big bad gambling industry.

Allegedly the letter highlighted Epoch’s termination clause, but didn’t give a reason for the termination. I’d understand if the companies were involved in shady business practices, but they still should have given a reason.
