Government Gets Extra Time to Respond to CAN-SPAM Brief

The US Government has requested and has received an extension of time to file their response to Jeffrey Kilbride and James Schaffer's opening brief on appealing their CAN-SPAM related charges. As the first case of any CAN-SPAM conviction, the case is being scrutinized by judges and lawyers alike, though it appears that the current trial will overrule indictments handed down in lower courts.

Adult website operator "Cyberheat" has been fined over $400,000 for the actions of its affiliates, despite the fact that Cyberheat did not send any offending emails themselves.
