New Online Catalog Fails to Score

The SCORE Group has added a new interactive catalog that combines audio, video and text. The only problem is it’s a shining example of how to create an online catalog the WRONG WAY. They must not have any SEO people working for them or they’d know that Flash totally invisible to search engine unless it’s done in a particular way.

The Results Are In- Size Does Matter

Hitwise has released a new report showing that the length of search queries has increased over the past year. Apparently longer search queries, 5+ words in length, have increased by 10% and shorter search queries, 1 to 4 words, have decreased by 2%. So what exactly is so bad about Google AJAX? Well let me tell you… it will prevent anyone from tracking what keywords were used to find their site, making keyword tracking useless.

Yahoo, I Call Bullshit!

Yahoo decided to make a few changes to their terms and conditions, giving them permission to edit customers search marketing campaigns. This means that Yahoo now has the right to “optimize” customer’s campaigns however they see fit. Oh don’t worry, they send notification when any changes are made.

Google No Longer Endorses the Competition

While Google used to suggest that website owners register their sites not only with Google, but also with other competing directories, these guidelines have apparently been removed from their webmaster guidelines. This may indicate that Google is devaluing Yahoo's links, or may simply be an omission they've made in the interest of not promoting their competitors.
