CNN's "Sex Doesn't Sell" Study Is Riddled With Bias

Here's my favorite writer Tom Hymes talking about CNN's "Does sex sell movies? Uh, not really." Even though I haven't been watching much CNN, I just heard about this obliquely from other people. And now Tom Hymes discusses it in his article.

Sex Toys Are Making A Killing

Besides mobile porn, there is another force that is helping keep our industry going. Sex toys apparently are having a renaissance as Chris Morris relates in his highly informative look at market trends. Americans seem to be warming up to those intimate and oftentimes curious electrical appliances. Who couldn't deny how sex toys can help steer one's frustrations in daily life?

I recently visited XXXJay's main blog and I was shocked by what I had found. It appears that XXXJay of JQMedia is selling a whole bunch of sites from his "SEO Empire". As alarming as it sounds, he seems to be giving up the business.

Is Google Hijacking Your Content?

There’s been a lot of buzz going around about a new “Improvement” at Google. According to Google’s blog, they are going to showing longer snippets of text shown in the SERPs when a query longer then three words is entered. So what does this mean and why should you care?

Pirates Spend Loot Better then Average Joe

The BI Norwegian School of Management has released a study showing that music pirates may actually buy a lot more music than others. BI examined the music downloading habits of over 1,900 Internet users and found that music pirates buy 10x more legal music than the average, non-P2P-loving user. I highly doubt the music industry will buy into this, but this article is quite compelling.

With everyone struggling through these tough economic times, it’s nice to hear that one company has found a way to keep the money rolling in.

It was announced last week that San Francisco based Kink.com has lain off 11% of its staff. The layoffs were attributed to the company’s rapid growth in an ailing economy, but some people wondering if this is a sign the economy situation is that dire.

Playboy Enterprises Inc. has decided to start charging models a $49.95 registration fee for casting calls. This announcement didn’t come as too much of a surprise since lately there has been quite a bit with regards to Playboy’s financial struggles, layoffs and the departure of CEO Christie Hefner.

Twitter Looking to Gouge "The Man”

In a recent interview, Twitter CEO Biz Stone mentioned that they may start charging companies a membership fee for those using the site to connect with customers. However, there is no need to fret if you are just a regular individual user; Twitter has no plans to start charging you… yet?
