Government Gets Extra Time to Respond to CAN-SPAM Brief

The US Government has requested and has received an extension of time to file their response to Jeffrey Kilbride and James Schaffer's opening brief on appealing their CAN-SPAM related charges. As the first case of any CAN-SPAM conviction, the case is being scrutinized by judges and lawyers alike, though it appears that the current trial will overrule indictments handed down in lower courts.

Cracking Palin's Email Exposes Limitation of Email Protection

This interesting recount of how vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin's email was recently hacked using a series of uncomplicated techniques to reset her password an ultimately gain access to her account. For adult webmasters who want to keep their personal communications private, experts recommend setting non-obvious security questions that are not readily available in the public record.

Have you Seen the Obama Sex Tape? (me neither)

A clever email marketer with a virus to boot has claimed thousands of victims through the use of a tricky email entitled "Barack Obama sex story with girls" apparently delivered from obamasex@obama.com. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) there is no such sex tape, and people who click the download link are instead infected with a trojan virus (I hope Republicans all send it to each other).

Adult Website Fined for Affiliate Behavior

Adult website operator "Cyberheat" has been fined over $400,000 for the actions of its affiliates, despite the fact that Cyberheat did not send any offending emails themselves. The case which led to the fine implicates Cyberheat for creating an affiliate program that paid participants who used illegal spamming techniques to drive traffic to the site.
