CAN-SPAM's First Conviction Sheds Light on Enforcement Difficulties
Wed, 10/17/2007 - 22:00 — beachboy97a7Four years since the inception of CAN-SPAM, the government's program to fight spamming on the Internet, the US Justice Department has finally succesfully prosecuted its first offenders. The case is a landmark vicotry for the prosecution, but demonstrates the difficulties in tracking down suspects activities through the Internet, and shows that the system is still struggling to get it's legal minds around certain technological implecations of the technology behind webmarketing campaigns.
