Visa and MasterCard Take a Page from Scammers
Thu, 10/30/2008 - 18:14 — pixiewillowOne would think that Visa and MasterCard would be want to help safeguard their customer's from potential fraud, well apparently they are just making things worse. Both credit card companies offer programs that are supposed to protect their cardholders from fraudsters, but guess what- their verification tools look just like phishing traps! Oh, and gets better... phishing traps are being designed to look like the verification tools. To top it all off, if a customer is confused and actually gives their info to one of these phishing scams and a fraudulent order is placed, the cardholder is responsible for the charge. Happy shopping!

Along with screwing over merchants, they're now screwing their customers... nice!
Should I really be surprised that the credit card companies are crooks?
What's even more rediculous, is these anti-fraud 'services' are for the most part already required by law and have to be provided for all credit cards.
