Is Kentucky a Threat to Online Porn?
Tue, 10/28/2008 - 21:34 — pixiewillowWith the success Kentucky Gov Steve Beshear has had with seizing online gambling domains, will the online porn industry become his next target? Radley Balko, a specialist in civil liberties issues, thinks this is exactly what will happen. Since online gambling is illegal in the US, it seems that would make for an easy target and while porn may not be accepted with open arms, I think Kentucky would have a harder time going after legit porn sites. I don’t know if this is something to worry about now or to wait and see if anything actually happens, but maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea to start blocking Kentucky citizens.

I smell a First Amendment lawsuit coming.
How can he seize domains not hosted in Kentucky? Certainly he couldn't take a domain away from someone in another country.
