In the swingers and BDSM community, 'Vanillas' are people who do not accept or do not belong within the sexual fetish community, and generally refers to a label that could be associated with people NOT a part of a sexually liberated lifestyle. This article goes on to argue that a 'Vanilla' lifestyle is actually a state of living in denial and accepting the cultural brainwashing of monogamy as the only type of acceptable form of sex.
