Cincinnati Publisher Fights Back Against Censorship

7
points

'CityBeat', a small publication that covers arts and lifestyle features in and around Cincinnati, Ohio, received a threatening letter from concerned citizens that threatened to take unspecified action against the newspaper if it did not remove the adult classifieds from it's advertising offerings. However, the 'concerned citizens' were not simply common folks, but police chiefs and politicians who met in government buildings to draft the threatening letter. Consequently, CityBeat has the right to sue the individuals involved, as well as the Citizens for Community Values organization for monetary damages associated with the publicly issued threats.
