A recent survey of leading ad executives shows that nearly 20 percent admitted to buying ad space in a publication in return for positive news coverage, a tactic that reeks of underhanded payoffs and 'free' products for 'review purposes'. I can only assume that if these things go on in the mainstream industry they likely occur in adult marketing as well, which makes you wonder if what makes a story 'newsworthy' has more to do with what's going on behind the scenes than whether it really has much merit as objective reporting.
