In Thailand, where transsexuals are quite frequent, and boys as young as 16 have been resorting to castration as an initial means of converting themselves to the female gender, new laws have been put in place to reduce the legal age of choice in the matter to 18 from 20 years old. While 18 year old transsexuals are eager to pursue full sexual conversion, many of their parents wish they'd hold off until their sexual identity is more mature.
