Despite being declared unconstitutional by a federal judge in 2007, government lawyers apparently made efforts last Tuesday in Congress to bring back the 1998 Child Online Protection Act. The law is being reviewed once again, but will likely fail again, due in part to the fact that sexual information sites could potentially be deemed in violation of such provisions and demonstrate the impossibility of fairly enforcing such a law.
