Albert Gonzalez, along with two unnamed men, was charged with stealing 130 million credit card numbers, making it the largest case of identity theft in American History! I found it rather amusing that Gonzalez use to help the US Secret Service by tracking and reporting hackers. So, it’s not surprising to read that he obtained the credit cards by hacking into retailers’ (like 7-Eleven) payment systems. Oh, one other thing- he was already in custody on separate data theft charges... Doesn't it seem like Secret Service should have been wary of him and maybe monitored his activities since he was a known hacker?
