ISP Sued Over Copyright Infringement

5
points

The Australian Federation against Copyright Theft is suing iiNet, Australia’s 3rd largest ISP, on behalf of 7 film companies. The organization claims iiNET customers engaged in illegal file sharing and since iiNet refuses to give up customer info, they are getting slapped with the law suite. Interestingly enough, iiNet happens to be following Australian laws and are passing any users violating laws to the local police to deal with.

It would have to be for ulterior motives, otherwise why the hell would Germany get involved? I can't believe they care that much about what happens to Australia!
